Here are images of the sailgating area with aerial views of the stadium site and basin. Baylor University has created an amazing venue for sailgating. On gameday, this entire area will be filled with boats and swimmers (only in September). Arrive early and sailgate until late!
All drone pictures are by Tom Hofferber, used with permission.
The first Sailgate this season will be September 2nd. There will be a total of 6 sailgates in the 2017 season, rain or shine, hot or cold. Be sure to bring a swim suit the first 3 games of the season.

2017 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
LAUNCHING YOUR BOAT
There are three boat launches on Lake Brazos. We can only use two of them (the other is the closest at the stadium but owned by Baylor at their marina). One is the MCC Launch on the Bosque River; the other is located at Brazos Park East. We will be using the Brazos Park East launch because it has more parking, is closer to the stadium and is a bigger launch for your boat.
ON THE BRAZOS - WAKE ZONES
Please be aware that there is a NO WAKE ZONE down river of the Waco Drive Bridge. Observe the posted rules on the river. There are smaller water craft and kayaks enjoying the Brazos and this is for their safety.
TIME TO McLANE STADIUM
Generally, it takes around 15 minutes to get from the Brazos Park East boat launch to the I-35 bridges within the Stadium area. I'd allow 20 minutes if you are on a time table. Travel down river and you can't miss the stadium.
LAKE BRAZOS DEPTH
Lake Brazos (the Brazos River through Waco) maximum depth of 18 to 20 feet at the center of the waterway. In recent seasons, there have been heavy rains prior to the football season so please be aware of debris. The basin next to the stadium is almost consistently 15 feet deep within its center.
TIE UP WALL
There are about 12 to 14 (depending on the size of the boats) spots for tie ups, first come first serve on the Stadium Basin wall along the eastern side of McLane Stadium. There are generally one or two spots that are reserved for drop off spots for water taxis and sailgaters who are on the river. Tie up spots go quickly. We've started rafting up with other boats since last season, which means we tie (connect) boats away from the wall from an anchored tied one. We've had about 26 boats at peak doing this.
The university leases out 18 boat slips conviently in the basin. Every season they've been sold out, but please contact Baylor Athletics for more info about availability and costs.
Sailgating is popular, so you may or may not get a spot on the tie up wall. You can always communicate with those on the wall to see if they can raft up with you. If not, you can always anchor out in the basin and enjoy the atmosphere from your watercraft.
PLEASE OBSERVE TEXAS BOATING LAWS!
SAILGATE THE BRAZOS
Established in 2014, the Bearmada is a group of alumni, fans and friends who sailgate at every home football game infront of McLane Stadium. Sailgating on the Brazos River has become an awesome tradition for Baylor, Waco and College football nationwide. Come join us and Sic' Em Bears!
